My husbands wedding outfit

Knight in leather armour!

My husband really turned out hot and handsome in this outfit!

So, in our nontraditional wedding, there was no option for a suit for my husband. I found something a lot cooler! Since the price for a fantasy leather armor called Elf Noble Armour from thevikingstore.co.uk was pretty steep, I decided to sow the tunic he would wear under it myself.

And it turned out great, if you have in mind that I really do not sow, and this was my first time doing something this intricate. My earlier work is just making up curtains and other easy endeavors.

The tunic I actually made myself!
Then there was the cape, witch we got from the same seamstress who made my wedding dress. So it had matching trim on the edges, and the sigel on the hood.
Here he is with the cape on.

Finally, he needed some trousers, and I found the perfect ones at a medieval market in black linen. His shoes was some nice leather ecco shoes that he could get good use out of for years. He also wore a simple long leather belt, with a big viking drinking horn attached.

His outfit was based on layering, so he could ditch the cape after the ceremony, and later also the armour when we got hot and full from the awesome food we got.

Down to the bare minimum, but still looks good! (Ps: I made the draping on my weddingdress myself!)

Tons of Rock 2018 Vlog

This weekend we went to the Tons of Rock festival in Halden, Norway.

It is our 4th year out of 5 years the festival has been held. We did not go last year, but I hope we can continue going every year, as it is a awesome festival. The venue is really beautiful, at the old fortress of Fredriksten festning, overlooking the city of Halden. This year there was not to many bands we were super fan of, but as our friends were going, we decided to tag along, as we had our holiday anyway.

The food court was delicious this time, a lot of different nummys to choose from, and they also had a nice selection of wine, beer and also ready made cocktails!

The weather was not that good, as we have been having insane warm and dry weather all may into june, but now suddenly its cold and wet. It rained a lot the second day, but other than that it was fine. I got to use my long wool cape, so I was warm and cosy when outside, and we had a camper with heating so we were fine inside also!

Here is a vlog I put together from the trip, enjoy!

The wedding!!

It has been two years today! Our medieval/fantasy/fairy tale wedding, two years after my honey proposed. I did all the planning, I sowed the shirt my man wore under the armor, I designed the shield-maiden of honor outfit, the look of decorations, everything. And it turned out to be the wedding of my dreams. It was just so fun and lovely, everyone attending had an awesome time.

Ok, so I dont have much skills with editing videos. I really would like to make a fantastic video from the wedding, but I have tried so many times.. So now I just used the editing software that comes with windows 10 and I think it turned out great. So I hope you enjoy it!

All my hair

I have had a lot of different hairstyles and colors over the years.
I am naturally blond, so all of my childhood and up to about my twenties, I was different degrees of blond. I made a video with all my hairstyles and colors that I actually have digital photos of, so it starts off in 2003, when I got my first digital camera. If I have short hair, then suddenly long hair in the timeline, it is just clip in extensions used for the occasion. Enjoy!

Planning a wedding

So, four years ago my honey proposed to me at the festival Tons of Rock. It was our 4 year anniversary, and we found the date two years later, on our 6 year anniversary. That gave me two years to plan and arrange everything.

A picture of us at the festival the day after we got engaged.
Since we both are nontraditional and not really religious, a church wedding was not for us. We found a stately recognized religious community asatro who could wed us, and the venue was a viking-age inspired farm. We wanted a small wedding with just our closest friends and family, and set the dress code to medieval and fantasy inspired. It was optional to dress up, and we encouraged people to use bunad or rent something or use whatever they had if they did not want to invest. The most important thing for us was that they could come and celebrate the day with us.

I recommend everyone planning a wedding to go to some of those wedding sites that has a lot of good tips to how you should plan the wedding. I made a budget, and a list of all the things I had to get sorted at what times. Like the venue, cake, photographer, the dress, all the accessories, a horse!!, a hotell, the food, my hair, the program, gifts, logistics etc. Some of those things you have to start planning really early, like booking a venue at least a year before! The dress usually takes 3-6 months to get done!! There was so much stuff to sort out, and I did most of it. I had a lot of help from my sister, who was also my maid of honor. I had to take the last week before the wedding off work, so I could get all the stuff left done in time for the wedding. I stayed up late every day, and got up early, and worked my ass off! I got some good help from friends from far away who came to stay a few days early, they got put to work! Even on my wedding day, I was multitasking, sowing some clamps on the back of my dress so I could hoist the train and fasten it up for the evening, while my sister did my hair.

Multitasking on my weddingday!

I made the table decorations by walking in the forest, picking up moss, twigs and pine cones. Together with some glass domes and led lighting from IKEA, I was really pleased with the forest faerie look. The placement cards was made of sliced wood and a marker. So it wast mostly for free, and I saved a lot on my budget that I could use on other stuff.

From the wedding, we marked all the little bottles with stuff like "love potion", "troll blood", "angel tears" and so on, and filled them with different colored water.
This was the test to show the venue how I would like it to look.

The placement cards all done and arranged for seating.

I made a program for the wedding, so people would get a sense of what was going to happen for the day. The ceremony is really different, witch involves everyone to make an individual toast for the wedding couple. And the menu for those who were curious.
The program for the weddingday

Despite all the planning, things does happen that are not planned, or someone does not do what they are supposed to, or something takes longer than planned. This will always happen, so just relax, enjoy the day, and everything will usually work out just fine anyway. After my intens week of planning and racing to get everything ready for the wedding, I decided to just enjoy my weddingday and have fun. The day flew by so fast, so I am glad I could focus on me and my husband and all our friends and family just having a blast!

Pre wedding fotoshoot

So, in 2016 we got married. And we hired a photographer who also had a prewedding photoshoot in the deal, so here are a few of the photos we took to find the best spots at our venue.

My outfit today. A simple black dress from H&M, black tights from Cubus and a black belt from Lindex. And I have black eyeshadow to match. ;)

OotD.

Top/dress from Kappahl, tights from Lindex.

Here is my outfit for today. I really love these tights, I got them at Lindex a few years ago. I am always on the lookout for different and stylish tights. As you can see, I like to dress casual and comfortable for work, but still have my own style shining through.

Corsets!

Today's topic is corsets. They are an essential wardrobe attire for the alternative minded. And they make your waist go in the most beautiful shape, if you have a real corset for tightlacing. I usually only wear my corsets when I dress up, and I usually tighten them just so they are comfortable and snug-fitting so my waist is reduced about 5-10 cm (2-4 inches). It sounds like a lot, but if you try to suck your tummy in, you'll reduce your waist a lot more than that, and the corset makes your back real straight and it is actually easy and comfortable to sit up straight. It is impossible to slouch your back in a corset.

I have gotten four corsets so far, and I plan on getting more. All of them are from Dracula Clothing, they have a lot of really nice ones, and other alternative fashion items as well.

My four different corsets, two overbust and two underbust.

Outfit of the day.

Tanktop: H&M, Skirt: unknown, Tights: Cubus.

I am planning to blog a bit about my style. I do not follow any particular style, I just mix and match what I like, and also what looks nice on my figure. I am indeed a plus size, and I find it a challenge to dress the way I like. The styles I love and are influenced a lot by are goth, rockbilly, metal, punk, aristocrat and steampunk.
I will start to post ootd to show you how I dress, both on laidback days and when I really dress up. I have not really found a lot of gothic styling and fashiontips for big girls, so I will just have to make one myself. ;)
