My husband really turned out hot and handsome in this outfit!
So, in our nontraditional wedding, there was no option for a suit for my husband. I found something a lot cooler! Since the price for a fantasy leather armor called Elf Noble Armour from thevikingstore.co.uk was pretty steep, I decided to sow the tunic he would wear under it myself.
And it turned out great, if you have in mind that I really do not sow, and this was my first time doing something this intricate. My earlier work is just making up curtains and other easy endeavors.
The tunic I actually made myself!
Then there was the cape, witch we got from the same seamstress who made my wedding dress. So it had matching trim on the edges, and the sigel on the hood.
Here he is with the cape on.
Finally, he needed some trousers, and I found the perfect ones at a medieval market in black linen. His shoes was some nice leather ecco shoes that he could get good use out of for years. He also wore a simple long leather belt, with a big viking drinking horn attached.
His outfit was based on layering, so he could ditch the cape after the ceremony, and later also the armour when we got hot and full from the awesome food we got.
Down to the bare minimum, but still looks good! (Ps: I made the draping on my weddingdress myself!)
This weekend we went to the Tons of Rock festival in Halden, Norway.
It is our 4th year out of 5 years the festival has been held. We did not go last year, but I hope we can continue going every year, as it is a awesome festival. The venue is really beautiful, at the old fortress of Fredriksten festning, overlooking the city of Halden. This year there was not to many bands we were super fan of, but as our friends were going, we decided to tag along, as we had our holiday anyway.
The food court was delicious this time, a lot of different nummys to choose from, and they also had a nice selection of wine, beer and also ready made cocktails!
The weather was not that good, as we have been having insane warm and dry weather all may into june, but now suddenly its cold and wet. It rained a lot the second day, but other than that it was fine. I got to use my long wool cape, so I was warm and cosy when outside, and we had a camper with heating so we were fine inside also!
Here is a vlog I put together from the trip, enjoy!
It has been two years today! Our medieval/fantasy/fairy tale wedding, two years after my honey proposed. I did all the planning, I sowed the shirt my man wore under the armor, I designed the shield-maiden of honor outfit, the look of decorations, everything. And it turned out to be the wedding of my dreams. It was just so fun and lovely, everyone attending had an awesome time.
Ok, so I dont have much skills with editing videos. I really would like to make a fantastic video from the wedding, but I have tried so many times.. So now I just used the editing software that comes with windows 10 and I think it turned out great. So I hope you enjoy it!
So, four years ago my honey proposed to me at the festival Tons of Rock. It was our 4 year anniversary, and we found the date two years later, on our 6 year anniversary. That gave me two years to plan and arrange everything.
A picture of us at the festival the day after we got engaged.
Since we both are nontraditional and not really religious, a church wedding was not for us. We found a stately recognized religious community asatro who could wed us, and the venue was a viking-age inspired farm. We wanted a small wedding with just our closest friends and family, and set the dress code to medieval and fantasy inspired. It was optional to dress up, and we encouraged people to use bunad or rent something or use whatever they had if they did not want to invest. The most important thing for us was that they could come and celebrate the day with us.
I recommend everyone planning a wedding to go to some of those wedding sites that has a lot of good tips to how you should plan the wedding. I made a budget, and a list of all the things I had to get sorted at what times. Like the venue, cake, photographer, the dress, all the accessories, a horse!!, a hotell, the food, my hair, the program, gifts, logistics etc. Some of those things you have to start planning really early, like booking a venue at least a year before! The dress usually takes 3-6 months to get done!! There was so much stuff to sort out, and I did most of it. I had a lot of help from my sister, who was also my maid of honor. I had to take the last week before the wedding off work, so I could get all the stuff left done in time for the wedding. I stayed up late every day, and got up early, and worked my ass off! I got some good help from friends from far away who came to stay a few days early, they got put to work! Even on my wedding day, I was multitasking, sowing some clamps on the back of my dress so I could hoist the train and fasten it up for the evening, while my sister did my hair.
Multitasking on my weddingday!
I made the table decorations by walking in the forest, picking up moss, twigs and pine cones. Together with some glass domes and led lighting from IKEA, I was really pleased with the forest faerie look. The placement cards was made of sliced wood and a marker. So it wast mostly for free, and I saved a lot on my budget that I could use on other stuff.
From the wedding, we marked all the little bottles with stuff like "love potion", "troll blood", "angel tears" and so on, and filled them with different colored water.
This was the test to show the venue how I would like it to look.
The placement cards all done and arranged for seating.
I made a program for the wedding, so people would get a sense of what was going to happen for the day. The ceremony is really different, witch involves everyone to make an individual toast for the wedding couple. And the menu for those who were curious.
The program for the weddingday
Despite all the planning, things does happen that are not planned, or someone does not do what they are supposed to, or something takes longer than planned. This will always happen, so just relax, enjoy the day, and everything will usually work out just fine anyway. After my intens week of planning and racing to get everything ready for the wedding, I decided to just enjoy my weddingday and have fun. The day flew by so fast, so I am glad I could focus on me and my husband and all our friends and family just having a blast!
Today we celebrated my boyfriends birthday with family and friends! It was a nice and cosy day with tacos and some beers. We ended up playing a kind of pictionary, and these are my darlings awsome pictures! Can you guess what they are? We got the right guesses after some time, we laughed so hard!! I especially love the first guys feet!! Hahaha! Espen has a rare talent to be able to draw so bad, but still understandable.

I love cats! I have always loved cats.
I also loves dogs though, and animals in general. I grew up with
cats, dogs, and birds, I have owned rats (but became allergic..) and
when I bought my apartment in 2005, I got my first cat that was
entirely my own. Tigris is her name, but we often call her “Tigern”
witch means “the Tiger”, and that is of course because of her
beautiful colours. She has a special type of fur that is really thick
and soft, and people that are allergic to cats tell me that they
react less to her than to other cats. I do not know exactly when she
was born, cause she was born in a barn on a farm. But suddenly the
farmer could not find the kittens, and he thought they all had been
killed by a fox or a territorial male cat. Then after a few weeks, he
found Tigris walking around in the yard, she was a lone survivor, and
he took her in and fed her cat-formula, and when she was big enough
(about 5 weeks) I went to pick her up. She adored me right away by
not being afraid at all, and started playing with my feet after a few
minutes. The Tiger is a suitable name not only because of her
colours, she is a feisty and fun cat. I held her in my arms, and she
almost went right to sleep, she had my heart from then on.
Little Tigris when I got her.
She was so tiny!
She likes to play.
And then, in the summer of 2007, she
was away from home for a few days. I got worried, cause she usually
comes home at least every other day. But after three and a half day,
she got home, and I was so happy. After a few weeks, we could see why
she had been so long away from home, she had gotten herself
pregnant!! This is perfect, because I wanted her to have a litter
before I had to sterilize her. And I had friends and family lined up
ready to adopt. She had four little kittens, three male and one
female. The female (Nala) and the male (Mowgli) had short fur with
blended colours, the last males (Anubis and Buster Phus) had long,
thick fur. Anubis was black and dark brown (only visible in direct
sunlight) and Buster had a darker, but similar colours to Tigris.
They were all healthy and sweet, and my brother and his girlfriend
adopted Nala, my good friend Heidi adopted Mowgli, and my other
friend Heidi adopted Buster. Anubis I had to keep for myself, cause
he had been injured when he still was young (the vet guessed it was
Tigris when she tried to lift him), and he got a wound on his
shoulder. We went to the wet, who stitched it, and gave me
instructions to care for it. I had to rinse it a few times a day, and
Anubis was not as active and a bit sleepy. I was really afraid that
he was going to die, but after taking good care of him, he became
active and vibrant again. And I had fallen in love with him, and I
could not bear to part with him. So that’s the story of how I got
Anubis.
Tigris with her litter, can you spot the four kittens?
Anubis and Mowgli
Anubis is still a kitten, and cuddles with his mother in the window.
Adorable Anubis!
This is taken at the same time as the other, he just looks bigger face on.
Tigris is really photogenic!
Anubis has the same thick and soft fur
like his mother, only much longer! And he has a mane like a tiger!
The fur is so incredible nice to feel, I just want to bury my face in
it. But, after Tigris had all the kittens, I got allergic, and I had
to restrict how much contact I had with them. That means they are not
allowed in the bedroom (this is really sad to me, cause Tigris always
lay down on my chest and purrs when I go to sleep, and that made me
go to sleep), and I have to try not getting cat hair into my eyes.
But I still cuddle with them, and they lie on me and everything,
cause I will never abandon my cats. If I have to take a pill every
day to get to have them, then so be it!
Anubis has started to mimic this, nice and cozy!
Tigris loves being near us, preferably on top!
I live on the first floor of my
building, so I have a cat-flap in the balcony door, and they can
easily jump up and down from my balcony to the ground. My cats can
come and go as they wish. In the winter, they stay mostly inside, and
Tigris is a really indoor cat. She can go outside for short
excursions to look at the scenery from our balcony, but mostly she
stays inside. Anubis is more outside, and when he comes home, he
usually mjaus loud and nagging to tell us that he is home. Anubis
really loves mjauing. Unlike Tigris, witch is quite silent, and if
she mjaus, it is more like a squeak. It is really adorable. My cats
are really nice tempered and have never been aggressive against me or
anyone else. They are wary of strangers, but I take that as a good
sign. I don’t want them to run up to strangers outside, who knows
what kind of crazy people there can be.
Her går det unna!
Da går det som regel i World of Warcraft.
I started to blog in norwegian some time ago, and have decided to translate it to english, so more people can enjoy my blog.
2010 was a special year for me. I started out single, fresh kickboxer and had the world before me. Suddenly I got hurt while kickboxing, and got chronic pains in my neck. I had to stop training and use all my money on therapy. I realise I can no longer do any contactsport again..
Nasty roaches!
Springtime came and I found visitors in my kitchen. Cockroaches!! The most nasty thing ever, and it would get worse.. It turned out they had come from my neighbour and when they redid their kitchen, the roaches moved over to my appartment over the airduct. The great battle against the evil roaches started, all the appartements in my part of the building had to get checked. I did not want to use my kitchen anymore, because I felt disgusted with all the roaches. So I turned to takeaway and fastfood.. (Can you imagine that combined with no exercise??)
Then summer came, and something happened that made 2010 my best year so far! I met my wonderful boyfriend! I have lived on cloud 9 ever since, and no stormy clouds in sight so far! With this positive boost in my life, I gathered up strength to get a loan and get going with a total redoing of my kitchen!
My love and me! <3
So this is where I stand in 2011. The year I take everything lost back: My kitchen, my health, my appartment! I now live together with my dearest, and we will now start tearing the old kitchen down. I cant wait to get my new kitchen done, so I can start making a lot of delicious food. My boyfriend does not really have a clue to what I really can do in the kitchen, and I look forward to impress him a bit!
