Eurotrip 2018

So for our holiday this summer, after doing the festival Tons of Rock, we decided to do a roadtrip with our Tesla model X 90D. We packed up the tesla with clothes for a week, a 12V/230V cooler for food and drinks, camping gear in case we had to stop and sleep somewhere, and off we were. We set up our route with the help of the supercharger network, desided to go to Legoland in Denmark, visit Berlin and Prague. Other than that we used the Hotels.com app to find hotels and just drove off and had fun.

Our route, first to Vejle Denmark for two nights, then to Berlin staying two nights, and lastly Prague for two nights.

We started with taking the Colorline Superspeed Ferry from Larvik to Hirtshals, where we payed for the buffet option, so we could just relax and eat while the ferry took us to Denmark.

Highest speedlimit in Norway is 110km/h.

Then it was on to a charge stop at the supercharger in Randers, and we arrived at our hotel Vejle Center Hotel in Vejle pretty late. The hotel was nice for the price, and quite spacious rooms. The next day we ate breakfast in our room thanks to our cooler witch also works on regular electricity. We had boiled eggs from back home, and we had some polar bread and different condiments. The room had a water boiler, so we got a nice coffee and a chai latte in my case before we went on the days adventure: LEGOLAND! It was just 26 km away, and thanks to our last chargestop, we did not have to charge before going.

Vine and tapas at 1401 Tapas and Burger.

Legoland was fun, but it is more for kids. We spendt about 3 hours there, looking at some stuff and taking some rides, and having a lunch buffet. On our way back to the hotel, we stopped by the supercharger to charge the car up so we were ready to drive on the next day. Back at the hotel to relax a bit, then we went walking to the city senter where we found a nice shopping street, and went for a drink and dinner at 1401 Tapas and Burger. We shared a plate of 7 tapas, it was really tasty!

The next day, after another breakfast in the room, we went on towards Germany and Berlin. Stopping at Rødekro supercharger and Hamburg Alpincenter supercharger on the way, we arrived at Hampton by Hilton Alexanderplats witch has a Tesla Destination charger. We called on our way to make sure there was a charger available for us. The hotel was really nice, and breakfast was included. After arriving, we went out for dinner and drinks.

Ready for a night on the town in Berlin!

The evenings look.

We walked to a place called Lily Burger & Steaks. I had a few coctails, and Espen had beer. We waited really long for our food, and when we got it they gave me the wrong order. They were not sure at first and had to check with the kitchen. But I was so hungry, so I had to start eating anyway, and they compensated us with drinks on the house for their mistake. That was not what I needed, but free drinks is hard to resist.

Waiting for my food!

I ordered a baked potato with sour cream and corn, with toast on the side, got just a dry potato and a sourcream and corn sandwitch. Yum.. Not..

The coolest pub in Berlin!
We then took an Uber to Rock and Viking Bar, where we met a lot of nice and cool people and great music! The bar was awesome, they even had mead, and you could get it served in a horn!! So I had to try that.

I did not think about that mead is pretty strong, so I ended the night barfing out in the streets. Not my proudest moment. Thanks to the free drinks at the restaurant, and strong mead.. Luckily Espen was not too drunk, and he got us home to the hotel. Unfortunately I do not do well drinking too much, and when I get that sick, the whole next day is pretty much ruined for me. I stayed in bed (and running to  the toilet) until about 16:00 o'clock the next day, so our museum and shoppingplans had to be dropped. I finally managed to eat something in the evening, and we went out to buy some Mc Donalds before staying in our room, watching Luke Cage. The tv in the room had allshare, so it worked well with my cellphone and Netflix app.

Glad I am here on a tour and not staying..

The next day was a sunday, so all the shops were closed and I did not get to shop anything. But after having the breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we did manage to go to the Stasi prison museum (Gedenkstätte Berlin-Hohenschönhausen). We came just in time for a guided tour, so we got to hear the story of the place and look at the different rooms. I think it is important to go to such places to really see what they did, and remember it so we do not allow it to happen again. But the sad thing is that places like this and worse are around in the world even today..

We then drove further south with one stop at the supercharger in Nossen and arrived at another hotel with a Tesla Destination charger, the Falkensteiner Hotel Maria Prag. This was an older hotel, but still nice, and the Tesla stood safe in the hotel parking behind a gate. We went out to eat at the Výtopna Railway Restaurant, where you get your drinks to the table by model trains. They charged us 10 euro entrance, witch we thought were a bit of a scam. But the drinks are good, and the pizza was nice. Back to the hotel for an early night and a long day of sightseeing, shopping and fun the next day.

Sadly, the astronomic clock was being restored, so we did not get to see it. But Prague is a beautiful city full of old architecture, and we had a nice time walking around old town. In the evening we went to eat at Gastrobar 1402, witch played nice music in the Rock/metal genre, and the food was rustic but tasty!

Gastrobar 1402

Then we went to Black Angel's Bar, one of the worlds top 10 hotel bars! And you can really understand why when you go there, there is a policy for no photos, dress code smart casual, and behave yourself. Its down in the basement of the Hotel U Prince, with rustic mason walls, dark leather couches, and back lit angel figurines, giving it a 1930 prohibition vibe. The server was really excellent, helping us navigate the menu, giving us tips to what we might like, and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. Espen had the best drink he ever tried, the Vieux Carré Aged, and I also really enjoyed every drink I tried. You could tell they use a lot of effort and skill in their drinks, like the Imset Cooler witch was served in a farao buste glass with watermelon jerky on the side. We also had to try Absinthe drinks, Espen had it traditionally with a sugar cube and ice water, and they made me a cocktail with lime and grape. Also tasty! If going to Prague, you are missing out if you do not go there!

The next day we checked out of the hotel, charged at the supercharger in Nossen again and drove to Leipzig for some shopping. I already got some Sephora stuff from Prague, so now it was time to go to the different alternative shops in Leipzig. I ended up with a new dress and some accessories, Espen got some stuff too. Then we decided to just drive home.. We switched between driving and sleeping, we stopped only at superchargers on the way home. The stops were Hohenwarsleben, Bispingen, Rødekro, Slagelse, Mellby Center, Kungälv  and Tanum before arriving home.

The looong trip home.

The Tesla got really nasty from all the bugs it hit on the way..

We drove for about 20 hours, and we traveled a total of about 29 hours (we had 3 hours of shopping in Leipzig), so about 6 hours spendt on charging. But that was nice to have to stop for a bit, cause we could sleep or eat while we charged. Driving with a Tesla is really comfortable, we could stay at 130-135 km/h on the autobahn without being afraid of range, and all in all the trip was nice and fun. I would say that even though we charge for free, the hotels do cost a bit, and we had to pay for parking with the destination chargers, so we ended up using a fair amount of money on the trip. Total km driven on the trip adds up to 2978 km, and we were gone for a week.

My husbands wedding outfit

Knight in leather armour!

My husband really turned out hot and handsome in this outfit!

So, in our nontraditional wedding, there was no option for a suit for my husband. I found something a lot cooler! Since the price for a fantasy leather armor called Elf Noble Armour from thevikingstore.co.uk was pretty steep, I decided to sow the tunic he would wear under it myself.

And it turned out great, if you have in mind that I really do not sow, and this was my first time doing something this intricate. My earlier work is just making up curtains and other easy endeavors.

The tunic I actually made myself!
Then there was the cape, witch we got from the same seamstress who made my wedding dress. So it had matching trim on the edges, and the sigel on the hood.
Here he is with the cape on.

Finally, he needed some trousers, and I found the perfect ones at a medieval market in black linen. His shoes was some nice leather ecco shoes that he could get good use out of for years. He also wore a simple long leather belt, with a big viking drinking horn attached.

His outfit was based on layering, so he could ditch the cape after the ceremony, and later also the armour when we got hot and full from the awesome food we got.

Down to the bare minimum, but still looks good! (Ps: I made the draping on my weddingdress myself!)

Tons of Rock 2018 Vlog

This weekend we went to the Tons of Rock festival in Halden, Norway.

It is our 4th year out of 5 years the festival has been held. We did not go last year, but I hope we can continue going every year, as it is a awesome festival. The venue is really beautiful, at the old fortress of Fredriksten festning, overlooking the city of Halden. This year there was not to many bands we were super fan of, but as our friends were going, we decided to tag along, as we had our holiday anyway.

The food court was delicious this time, a lot of different nummys to choose from, and they also had a nice selection of wine, beer and also ready made cocktails!

The weather was not that good, as we have been having insane warm and dry weather all may into june, but now suddenly its cold and wet. It rained a lot the second day, but other than that it was fine. I got to use my long wool cape, so I was warm and cosy when outside, and we had a camper with heating so we were fine inside also!

Here is a vlog I put together from the trip, enjoy!

The wedding!!

It has been two years today! Our medieval/fantasy/fairy tale wedding, two years after my honey proposed. I did all the planning, I sowed the shirt my man wore under the armor, I designed the shield-maiden of honor outfit, the look of decorations, everything. And it turned out to be the wedding of my dreams. It was just so fun and lovely, everyone attending had an awesome time.

Ok, so I dont have much skills with editing videos. I really would like to make a fantastic video from the wedding, but I have tried so many times.. So now I just used the editing software that comes with windows 10 and I think it turned out great. So I hope you enjoy it!

All my hair

I have had a lot of different hairstyles and colors over the years.
I am naturally blond, so all of my childhood and up to about my twenties, I was different degrees of blond. I made a video with all my hairstyles and colors that I actually have digital photos of, so it starts off in 2003, when I got my first digital camera. If I have short hair, then suddenly long hair in the timeline, it is just clip in extensions used for the occasion. Enjoy!
